The Annapurna Conservation Area is Nepal's most-visited mountain region, from the 4,130 m sanctuary of Annapurna Base Camp to the 5,416 m Thorong La on the Circuit and the low-altitude Poon Hill ridge. Since 1 April 2023 all foreign trekkers must travel with a licensed guide arranged through an accredited agency. ACAP permits cost NPR 3,000 for foreign nationals and NPR 1,000 for SAARC citizens.
